Join us to celebrate Scott's life and legacy with a special service at St Giles Cathedral followed by a Grand March through the city of Edinburgh, from St Giles Cathedral to the Scott Monument. Including pipers and drummers, spoken tributes to Sir Walter Scott and the ceremonial display of the swords of King Robert the Bruce, the Marquess of Montrose and Rob Roy MacGregor.
10.30AM: Ceremonial Procession begins from Parliament Hall to St Giles Cathedral. The swords of King Robert the Bruce, the Marquess of Montrose and Rob Roy MacGregor will be carried in the Procession to St Giles.
11.00AM: Service begins in St Giles Cathedral including musical and spoken contributions relating to Sir Walter Scott. Seats at the St Giles Cathedral service will be limited and allocated to the public on a first come, first served basis.
Following the service: A Grand March will take place from St Giles Cathedral to the Scott Monument, everyone is welcome to join the march led by the Combined Pipes and Drums, Guard of Honour and mounted Troops of the Scottish and Northern Irish Yeomanry and Royal Scots Dragoon Guards.
