The National Museum of Scotland is the UK’s most popular museum outside of London. There are over 20,000 objects on display bringing together the history of Scotland, the wonders of nature and diverse cultures, game-changing scientific breakthroughs and exquisite art, design and fashion from across the centuries.
The Scotland Galleries tell our nation’s history which inspired so much of Scott’s writing. On display are several precious objects belonging to Sir Walter Scott himself, including the hour glass he used to time his literary works and a walking stick he would have taken on his rambles exploring the Scottish countryside.
